MOTIV POWER SYSTEMS
What do we do?
The Motiv electric Powertrain Control System (ePCS) enables all-electric drive commercial vehicles to be built as easily as diesel vehicles, while providing clear benefits in operating costs, maintenance, configurability and emissions reductions.
America’s Only All-Electric School Bus
Kings Canyon Unified School District (KCUSD), in California’s San Joaquin Valley, leads the nation as the only school district using an all-electric school bus to transport students. The new electric bus is expected to save KCUSD over $10,000 a year in fuel and maintenance costs.
The Trans Tech/Motiv SST-e school bus is available with 80 or 100 miles of range and holds 25 students or 18 students with a wheelchair lift and configurable track seating for up to 3 wheelchairs.
First All-Electric Garbage Truck Build for Chicago
Motiv is the proud supplier of what is expected to be the first US all-electric Class 8 refuse truck. The City of Chicago has ordered up to 20 of these EV garbage trucks. The scalability and flexibility of the Motiv electric Powertrain Control System (ePCS) made the company the most cost-effective choice for the exclusive 5-year contract.
The garbage truck bodies are the Loadmaster 20 cubic yard Excel-S series, provided by RNOW Inc under municipal contract with the City of Chicago. The chassis, manufactured by Crane Carrier, are furnished by Cumberland Service Center, another City of Chicago contracted dealer.
