Food Logistics Names Tim Krauskopf Recipient of 2023 Rock Stars of the Supply Chain Award

Feb. 14, 2023 – We’re excited to announce that our CEO Tim Krauskopf has been named as a winner of Food Logistics’ 2023 Rock Stars of the Supply Chain Awards.

As the only publication exclusively dedicated to covering the movement of product through the global cold food supply chain, Food Logistics recognized Tim for understanding customers’ needs, creating problem-solving solutions, ensuring the safe transport of cold food and beverages and adopting sustainable measures.

“Not all rock stars are famous musicians. There are several rock stars right here in the cold chain, promoting workforce development, solving supply chain disruptions, mitigating risks and helping to heal the supply chain,” says Marina Mayer, Editor-in-Chief of Food Logistics and Supply & Demand Chain Executive. “They’re shaping the future of our global cold chains. And, they’re doing so in a way that’s both humble and pragmatic. Every year, I’m honored to celebrate these go-getters, and this year is no exception.”

Tim is a staunch believer that when food comes to your door or gets brought to your neighborhood store, the emissions and noise of combustion engines should not come with it. That’s why Motiv Power Systems is leading the charge on electrifying trucks and buses – including food and parcel delivery step vans, retail goods vehicles, shuttles and school buses.

Collaborating with customers like Bimbo Bakeries, Giant Food, Aramark, and Cintas, Tim has driven Motiv’s customer-centric focus, resulting in Motiv vehicles clocking more than 2 million miles on the road and delivering more than 70 million pounds of goods.

From his earlier days as a small fleet operator, transporting truckloads of frozen hamburgers, muffins and bagels, Tim has wanted to improve the processes he implemented then with diesel trucks and cooling units. To do that, Tim is spearheading Motiv’s upcoming launch of innovative solutions that enable food companies to run refrigerated EVs efficiently and with little or no negative impact on the range the vehicle can run on a single charge. The new technologies will implement cooling and pre-cooling solutions for box truck designs that maintain proper temperature with minimal draw on the truck’s EV battery.

“It’s an honor to be recognized by Food Logistics for Motiv’s work bridging the gap between the future of a fully electrified world and the need for clean and efficient transportation,” Krauskopf said. “All food deliveries should be made with EVs sooner rather than later. I’m thrilled to be doing my part in getting us there – building trucks with the most advanced electric batteries and motors that deliver groceries to homes, bread to stores, and refreshments to offices.”
